The Valdoro story started out with the developer having a vision of creating a luxurious, exclusive resort in the heart of Breckenridge. With the escalating real estate prices in Breckenridge, he set out to create a resort that would allow members to own only what they would use. This idea came to fruition with the construction of Valdoro Mountain Lodge in 2002, which is now an elite resort featuring quality, service and luxury. Breckenridge’s rich mining elements are incorporated into the resort through the architectural design and the name Valdoro, which was a historical mining camp from the early 1900’s and means "Valley of Gold".
