I live nearby Phoenix, Arizona and can confirm that the hotels are sold-out! As a matter of fact, many people are even offering their home, rooms, etc to be rented-out during the Superbowl week and the week prior for the events that go on during this event.

This timeshare rental thing sounds great. I own a Wyndham(VIP) timeshare ownership and have tried to book these weeks both through Wyndham(resorts in Sedona & Flagstaff) and by exchange through RCI and I've yet to get confirmation from either. We(my wife and I) have 400,000 Wyndham(Fairfield) points, so we are VIP and have preferred rights to book with Wyndham, so hopefully we can get one or both of the Superbowl weeks and offer them for rent.
