I rented timeshares often and know of others who also do this on a regular basis and it is a very cost effective way to travel and vacation. BUT, I did buy a timeshare after several rentals! I found something I liked and bought the timeshare(Marriott - Vail, CO) from the same owner I rented from and got a deal.
