Arrow Timeshare Floating Week Explanation

Hello Mondaymorn,

A common question from those new to timesharing. A lot of timeshare related questions and answers can be found in our FAQ section of our website. I have quoted a selection of this area of our website pertaining to your question and the America Resort Development(ARDA) description of a floating timeshare week.

Q. What is a float week?
A. A float week is vacation time that can be used anytime of the year based upon availability.

...and from ARDA their description of both a floating week and a fixed week, which is the opposite of a floating week :

Quote:
Fixed week - A type of timeshare ownership in which usage rights attach to a specific week of the year each year in perpetuity.

Floating week - A type of timeshare ownership where the use rights are subject to the owner reserving his or her week within a season purchased (winter, summer, etc.) or sometimes throughout the year. A year-round "float" is most often found in resorts with similar seasons, like Hawaii or the Caribbean.
Please feel welcome to inquire further and as always, Timeshare Adventures welcomes other forum visitors to add to this explanation and share their timeshare opinions, experiences, etc...

This forum and website are the BEST! I've had every question that has come to mind answered. I appreciate the open comments regarding specific timehsares and trading companies like RCI, Marriott and HGVC. Just had to say thanks to everyone for making this the best source on the net for timeshare information.
