Question Avoiding timeshare pitfalls

Greetings!
I am currently shopping for a resale timeshare in the Puerto Vallarta area. I'm trying to decide on a company to deal with and have read a few articles on avoiding timeshare companies that might not be legit. One suggestion was to ask the company to provide references of customers for whom they have actually closed deals. Do customers do that for timeshare resale companies? Is that something that Timeshare Adventures can do?
Thanking you in advance for your response,

Travis

I'm sure references could be presented and we do have legitimate Customer Testimonials available HERE!

Question Timeshare fees

Greetings, again...and thanks for your response. I have a new question about the yearly fees on a timeshare. How do I know what is a good or fair fee and what are these fees for? I don't want to get stuck with some high fee every year.

Timeshare owners share the up-keep costs of their units combined with maintaining the grounds of the timeshare resort property by paying a maintenance fee usually ranging from about $300 to $800 annually or biennially. The combined fees/dues together pay for property maintenance, improvements and usual up-keep of the timeshare resort.

Question Timeshare Fees

Thanks, again! Would those fees also cover property taxes?
When buying, should I avoid a timeshare with a high fee like $800 so I won't have to pay so much each year? Or do the higher fees go along with the higher priced timeshares?

Typically timeshare maintenance fees & taxes are billed together, but there are exceptions, I'm sure.

I would think that the maintenance fees reflect, to some degree, the luxury, up-keep and perhaps the beautification of your home resort, so seeking a very low MF w/out considering the ramifications of this choice may come to be a regret if the timeshare property is not maintained to certain standards. Taxes will be determined by the area in which the deeded timeshare exists.

Bottom line, IMO, is this: BUY RESALE TIMESHARE and save thousands of dollars, compare these HUGE savings to the timeshare resort developer price and even steep maintenance fees seem somewhat justified.
