San Francisco - The most exhilarating city in the world where one can explore the city’s history and stay in an elegant and luxurious resort. There are many beautiful and expensive resorts in San Francisco, other than “Suites at Fisherman's Wharf” that offer world class infrastructures and the best amenities. I called up a trip advisor to find out some options of my stay in Frisco and he kept insisting me to stay at "Suites at Fisherman's Wharf". I am sure he gets a lot of commission from them. Can anyone tell me what is it that makes this resort different from others?
Built in 1958, Suites at Fisherman's Wharf has the reputation of being one of those resorts where great service is available at a relatively lower cost. With some wonderful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Alcatraz Island, the place is ideal for people looking for a perfect vacation spot in San Francisco. The suites have a spacious living room, 32 inch tv, full kitchen, mini bar, microwave oven, in-room safe, refrigerator, and mini bar. Maid service is available on a daily basis to take care of your needs.
The rooms also have a smoke alarm, should anything go wrong. The resort has laundry/dry cleaning service which is quite helpful. They also give you a complementary coffee which is quite good. If you have kids, you can leave them at the babysitting/child care facility and have a good time, while your kids are being taken care of. They also have photo copy service and audio/video rental service to make things easier for guests. The staff here is multi-lingual and speaks more than one language with equal ease.
The famous Ghirardelli Square is at a walkable distance and you can also catch the good ole' Hyde Street Cable Car for an enjoyable ride. You can also chill out at the roof top sun deck, which offers some really wonderful views. In short, a vacation in the Suites at Fisherman's Wharf would be nothing short of satisfying.

If you want to be in the tourist hustle bustle, this is a great location. Besides the above mentioned activities there is also the Maritime Museum which is indoors and outdoors. My favorite place to eat in that area is pretty fancy...Ana Mandara at 891 Beach St. Their cuisine is fusion Vietnamese and the decor is dramatic.
Kids will enjoy the seals and sea lions that lay about the wharves and there is an aquarium at Pier 39....and lots of shops!
A fun day trip would be to catch a ferry ride to Angel Island or Sausalito. There's nothing like seeing the Golden Gate from a boaters perspective.
Where ever you stay in San Francisco, I cannot say enough about Golden Gate Park...it's my favorite. Was trying to get into the Academy of Science on their free Weds, but so were hundreds of other people. Ended up across the street at the de Young Museum. Major helpful tip: there is a parking garage there that makes it very easy to visit, you enter it off of Fulton St.
Grandson didn't want to see the King Tut display, so all the art we saw was for free and very interesting. Going up to the 9th floor tower deck gave us some awesome views, too. Here are a few photos from that visit:
The Suites at Fisherman's wharf are peaceful and comfortable accommodations for visitors. They offer a fabulous view of the surroundings and many big attractions which include Ghirardelli Square, Coit Tower, the mansions of Pacific Heights, Chinatown, Union Square, crooked Lombard Street and many other famous attractions. The rooms are clean and spacious with lovely view of outside. There are so many activities to do for visitors like hiking, boating, golfing and fishing.
