I don't think you'll find any deeded time share property in Mexico because of the laws governing foreigners owning deeds.

When you purchase your time share it will have a certain number of years left to use and thats what you'll own. You may be able to negoitiate additional years of use thru the resort owner services department.

Buying a Mexico time share resale will save you lots of money over purchasing from the time share resort directly.

Yes, I'm keen to the resale timeshare buy to save lot's of $, but the lease/rtu deal makes me a bit nervous. Does it make sense to buy a timeshare deeded in the states and just trade of for Mexico? Is it this simple?

Spencer, i would advise against buying a timeshare exclusively for external exchange with an exchange company like rci or interval. you just never know if you will get what you want. perhaps buying into a timeshare vacation club with many destinations in their portfolio would be a better idea.
