Made a last minute decision to take the kids to Disney World after Easter. The weather was perfect and the crowds had thinned out a bit from the previous weeks' spring breakers. The kids were besides themselves with excitement. The logic and the fun potential of staying in a timeshare became a lot more clear to me after one long day on my feet. There is so much to see and do. I want my family to have the ultimate week long experience next time.
Here are some snapshots.
Here is a good review on the Treehouse Villas which were recently upgraded. I thought it was especially interesting how a comparison was made between the value of DVC points versus cash.
What next? Someone has actually created an iphone application that will keep track of the waiting times on the amusement rides at Disney World. Read the details here:
The Disney Vacation Club timeshare addition, known as the Bay Lake Tower timeshare, is on schedule for an August 4, 2009 opening date. Disney is ahead of their original schedule in this timeshare's construction, and is already accepting bookings by Disney Vacation Club timeshare owners who have purchased timeshare at the new resort.
Beginning later this month, bookings for both the new Bay Lake Tower timeshare and Disney's new Treehouse Villas timeshare will be open to all members of the Disney Vacation Club, no matter which Disney timeshare they originally purchased.
The Bay Lake Tower timeshare is located next door to the Disney Contemporary Resort. The Treehouse Villas timeshares, also scheduled to open this summer, are being completed on elevated 10-foot aboveground pedestals, and are situated in a heavily wooded area on the river bend at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
Looking Forward!

Peggy MacDonald, the WDW Recreation Examiner, has written a great review on Disney's Caribbean Resort. All lovers of the Pirates of the Caribbean will be enticed by this.
Were you needing an excuse to visit WDW? If you are planning a stay in the Orlando area at a WDW resort this fall you have until September 26th to make reservations for a free dinner courtesy of Disney World. There is a 4 day black out period during Thanksgiving, but until December 17th vacationers can take advantage of this promotion. One slight glitch, travelers who book rooms in Disney World's cheapest hotels -- its "value" resorts such as Disney's Pop Century Resort -- will receive narrower dining plans for free.
Call it a fall treat or a Christmas gift and enjoy the holiday decorations like the Christmas tree at Animal Kingdom or the Candlelight processional at Epcot. In October, for a little extra $, take your children to Mickey's Not So Scarry Halloween Party.
To book your free dinner, call 407-WDISNEY by Sept. 26th.
Apparently all that glitters is not gold in the world of super deals on theme park tickets. Discovering that you purchased bogus tickets could really throw a dampener on your dream vacation. The following is a very good article about how tickets may actually be stolen (and canceled) and how to be sure you are getting what you paid for when you purchase them from discount sources.
Can you imagine 216 TONS of candy for trick or treaters? I'm pretty sure that the families of lovers of all things Halloween and Disney are making their way to WDW's "Not So Scary Halloween" celebration. If you don't already have a timeshare with the Disney Vacation Club, this would be a good time and reason to be checking out a timeshare rental or a great bargain on a timeshare in the Orlando area.
Trick or treating has developed some security issues in the past years and families are enjoying new ways to celebrate the ghosts and goblin fun. Check out this little video for some Disney Halloween inspiration:
One idea to make your holidays special would be a little timeshare vacation with the family to Disney World. There are lots of magical happenings for Disney fans coming up. Check out this article from Jeff Titelius of the Examiner to learn more:
To commemorate the opening of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disney Vacation Club's new Castle to Castle promotion offers DVC members who purchase 100 vacation points at Disneyland's newest hotel four complimentary annual passes to the Disney Parks.
Four free annual passes, 2 for each park, and the chance to stay at the new Villas at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel sounds pretty good!
