Thumbs up Things to take care of while visiting a pet-friendly timeshare resort

Hi guys,

A lot of timeshare owners happen to own pets. Even if they choose a pet-friendly resort, sometimes their pets can go out of control and make everyone around them uncomfortable. So, here is a small little list. If you are a pet owner, make sure you read this list.

1. Make sure you call your resort ahead of time and inform them that you will be bringing your pet along with you. You need to inform the concierge that there will be a dog/cat/whatever with you.

2. Let's face it. Not every dog is enthusiastic about traveling to a new place. Some pets can be extremely unpredictable and can go crazy in a new place with strangers all over. So, if your pet is not well behaved, please don't take it with you.

3. Always keep your dog on a leash and keep a close eye on him. Don't ever leave him alone. It can be really difficult to find your dog if it gets lost in the wilderness.

4. Always make sure you clean up the place after your pet does its business. It is not really exciting for people to see a pile of dog poo right in the middle of the walking area, park, or the ground.

5. Don't ever leave your dog alone in your room. If you need to go somewhere, take your dog along with you or contact the hotel reception and ask them if they have someone to take care of your dog until you come back. A lonely dog locked inside a hotel room can wreck havoc on the neighbors by barking and howling nonstop.

Hope that's helpful folks.

Default Pet Friendly Timeshares

I would think that most US timeshare resort areas would have some type of Pet/Dog Boarding company if the timeshare resort itself does not offer such a service.

Here's a link to a forum thread with some interesting information about pet friendly timeshares and related topics: PET FRIENDLY TIMESHARE
