Difference Between Timeshare Maintenance Fees and Timeshare Refundable Deposit
Hi guys,
I often find newbies getting confused about maintenance fees and refundable deposits. Though they might seem similar, they are not. I'll try to explain the difference here.
Maintenance fees - It is something you pay for the regular upkeep of your timeshare unit. Your developer needs money to pay his taxes, insurance, maintain the units, and other such stuff. So, he charges a particular sum of amount as maintenance fees. This amount differs from state to state and developer to developer.
Refundable deposit - As the name suggests, it is a refundable deposit which will be collected from you. If you cause any property damage in the unit you stay in, the money you paid as refundable deposit will be used to fix it. If there isn't any property damage or other such problems, your money will be returned.
Hope that's helpful folks.
