Timesharing in England
One of my favorite trips was to England where I had set up exchanges through RCI. We traveled to the small town of Oakham located in the heart of Rutland. The Barnsdale Country Club is a hunting lodge and our timeshare was a lovely 2 bedroom A-frame on a tranquil lake complete with swans. Our view was of the Rutland Reservoir and the countryside was all abloom with fields of yellow flowering rape. Rutland Water is one of the largest man made lakes in Western Europe and covers over 3,100 acres. The quaint old cottages with their thatched roofs were almost as fascinating as the old cathedral in the nearby town of Exton. We viewed the Seaton Viaduct built in 1878 and marveled at its 82 arches along a length of ¾ mile. My wife actually preferred England’s country sides to busy London. Here is a picture of our timeshare and the view that came along with it.
