Sounds like a good idea to me--I have tickets! I'm also travel agent in Florida and it's "slim pickins" for Phoenix area hotels. Timeshare is something I've considered in my trade for vacation rental, I've just never moved on the ideas. Anyway, I'm a big time Bears fan and have 'fingers crossed' for a Super Bowl appearance, but I have tickets received through a friend, so I will be sure to mention the timeshare rental option to him as an alternative to his usual hotel room.......GO BEARS!
What is the exact date for this years NFL Super Bowl?
I think you guys have a good thing going here with the timeshare rentals for the Phoenix, Arizona Super Bowl as long as people know about it. I live in Tempe, AZ and we are considering renting-out our
2nd investment home and the advertising I've done locally has not generated the desired response, but a company like you should be able to advertise these on a broader scale and it sure sounds good to me. I've got to find a way to get our 2nd home advertised nationally. Do you do this for regular homes?
The 2008 NFL Super Bowl is on February, 3rd 2008. There are numerous events, however leading up to the actual game. Most notable is the NFL Experience Opening, which begins on January 26th, 2008. For a complete list of events and more info about all kind of events and related information please visit the official website for the Arizona Super Bowl by clicking the link below.
I live nearby Phoenix, Arizona and can confirm that the hotels are sold-out! As a matter of fact, many people are even offering their home, rooms, etc to be rented-out during the Superbowl week and the week prior for the events that go on during this event.
This timeshare rental thing sounds great. I own a Wyndham(VIP) timeshare ownership and have tried to book these weeks both through Wyndham(resorts in Sedona & Flagstaff) and by exchange through RCI and I've yet to get confirmation from either. We(my wife and I) have 400,000 Wyndham(Fairfield) points, so we are VIP and have preferred rights to book with Wyndham, so hopefully we can get one or both of the Superbowl weeks and offer them for rent.
How much can I expect to get by renting my timeshare week for this event?
Superbowl Timeshare Rentals, Lodging For Superbowl
tommy2times,
I would advise you to stay on top of both Wyndham and RCI if you are still trying to book a week or two for the Super Bowl because they can sometimes delay when responding. In regard to what you can ask or "...what you can expect to get..." for a timeshare week during the Super Bowl, there are a number of factors that can affect the amount you can ask(i.e. unit size, resort, etc). I would advise you to first focus on finalizing the booking of these weeks or week and then take a look around the resale market to see what others are asking for something similar or better yet, market the timeshare week(s) as "Make Offer" and entertain offers as they are made. You can always counter-offer if you feel the initial offer is too low.

As you've discovered, we are targeting Super Bowl XLII renters and our rental marketing program is quite effective. Most of our business is with timeshare buyers, sellers, and renters, but we can and have effectively assisted those with traditional home, condominium, or vacation property rentals as well.
Timeshare Adventures can market your rental property or locate a rental property for those seeking vacation accommodations.

A recent press release indicates football fans taking advantage of timeshare and discounted luxury resort memberships as an alternative to traditional hotel room accommodations. The following is quoted from PR-USA.NET:
Quote:
Smart Super Bowl fans are taking advantage of discount luxury resort memberships as an alternative to hotels during the Super Bowl. The February 3, 2008 Super Bowl game will bring thousands of guests to Phoenix, Arizona, and hotel rates are expected to rise to meet the occasion.
In order to get around the traditional price swells of high demand seasons or events, more consumers are using discounted resort memberships as an alternative to hotel stays and timeshare ownership. These memberships do not include the maintenance fees, blackout weeks or exchange fees normally associated with timeshares, yet members are able to enjoy the same big name resorts at substantial savings, and without a timeshare presentation or other obligation.
Business travelers are also using discounted resort memberships for corporate housing. Contractors and employees find extended stays away from home much more enjoyable when a beach or world class golf course is included in their temporary housing.
Members may also travel during any week of the year, and for as many weeks of the year as they desire, as membership is based on a 'pay as you go' system. Members can book luxury golf, ski, beach or year round resorts in the range of $300 to $800 for an 8 day and 7 night stay. These are the same high profile resorts available on Travelocity, Orbitz and Hotwire at $1,200 to $3,200 per week. Discounted shorter hotel stays and cruise opportunities are also included in the membership.
A current member states, "The membership has been able to book impossible weeks during COMDEX in Las Vegas and Spring Break in a number of hot spots year after year. I'm sure they'll continue to do the same this year for the Phoenix area during the Super Bowl. We just book a week from our membership web site, confirm everything with our customer service rep, and go."
Timeshare Adventures has been advertising Super Bowl timeshare rentals for several months and our marketing strategies has worked quite well in bringing timeshare owners and renters together. I originally posted a mention of this alternative in December 2007 and the response has been better than expected.
