Default Sell Timeshare For Free

Can you sell your timeshare for free?
I'm sure everyone wants to do that, everyone who wants to sell their timeshare that is. I mean, why do you have too pay someone to sell it. Did you buy a timeshare that is the most popular? the best one? The one where everyone wants to vacation at?

You did? That helps you sell it, but now you need to find a buyer.

Some people Love their timeshare and others do not. There are several reasons people buy and sell timeshares. My opinion, it all has to do with timing and your needs.

If you don't want to pay someone to sell your timeshare... then don't. If you need to sell it right now (or soon)... you probably need help selling it. All of the ways to sell timeshare for free can work.... but remember, finding a buyer is one thing. Completing the transaction is another. Selling a $10,000 timeshare over the internet without knowing the buyer (and the buyer doesn't know you) --- uhm, with no one to be the middle man, a trusted middle man... FREE is not looking so good anymore.

A free timeshare listing or classified ad sounds real nice, but performance and results is what you want.

Yes, it can happen.... you can sell timeshare for free, but will YOU sell your timeshare for free?

Do this... read this page, I'm not saying free is bad, but do you want to sell your timeshare?

Sell Timeshares

What is your opinion on that page? I would be currious of your thinking "Is Selling a Timeshare For Free" --- after your read that.

thanks

Thumbs up Sell Timeshare for Free

That certainly follows a logical train of thought on the whole process of choosing how to sell your timeshare. I frequently see the statement of caution, "do not pay any fees up-front". It was made very clear exactly why one would pay for real services. I sure want to know what I am parting with my money for.
I even checked out the "what is it worth?" part and found out about The Donatello timeshare that my Dad wants to give me. Nifty!

Default sell timeshare for free

I have been on a quest to sell my timeshare for free and avoid the upfront costs timeshare resale companies demand in order to sell my westgate timeshare in orlando. I thought I could get a broker to handle the resale but could not find one that would work a westgate timeshare...why is that?

tried craigslist(free) without any bites and then ebay(not free) and the offers/bids were way too low and it was troublesome because i was hammered with emails, questions about closing and what i though were a couple of scams...?

Now, i'm thinking selling this timeshare for free is never going to happen. very shy to pay a fee and routinely get calls from timeshare resale companies promising a lot for a pretty big fee. they promise way too much money for the sale of the timeshare and in a very short time frame "guaranteed", but my research tells me they are totally off in what i can expect and how fast it will take to sell.

I know there are timeshare brokers out there that help with selling some timeshares, but I think for them to sell the timeshare it must be pretty a high demand property. Then the commission are pretty high as well.

My advice? Forget ebay and keep at it with cragslist-- it's free after all, so why not? Also consider a GOOD timeshare resale company that gets broad exposure. While not a free timeshare selling method, most have a money back guarantee if the timeshare is sold by an alternate method.

Best advice yet- Stay away from the telephone, mail, email timeshare resellers! Horror stories are everywhere about these guys.

Westgate contracts include a clause which states that if the owner chooses to resell the timeshare through a broker then Westgate Resorts is entitled to 50%(half) of the brokers commission. This, IMO, scares a lot of brokers away from handling selling Westgate timeshares.

Default Timeshare Irony

I just think that it's ironic that anyone would think they have a chance to sell their timeshare for free at a time when timeshares are difficult to sell. More logical to me to make some extra effort to attract serious buyers. Guess there's a world of people out there that think you can get something for nothing.

Default Selling Your Time Share

Free or paid or commissioned? The bottom line is you must have a FAIR price, exposure to real buyers and a way to close the sale without problems. Only are a few ways to do this....

Default Selling timeshare

I read on the TUG website that nobody should ever pay an up-front fee to sell their timeshare. Why can't I just put my timeshare for sale ad at your website and when I find a buyer I can just pay then?

Default Timeshare For Sale By Owner

Selling a timeshare is a For Sale By Owner type of approach and the 1st thing one must do when selling something in this fashion is to advertise to reach the buyer of whatever item is being sold. With timeshare resale this buying audience could be spread across the country/world and reaching them though targeted advertising is key to being successful. Local and/or free advertising outlets typically do not generate the nessesary exposure required, so it's the pooled resources of many timeshare sellers that enables us to advertise to effectively bring timeshare buyers, sellers and renters together, staff the professionals necessary to sustain our mission of helping timeshare owners and maintain the infastrucure of this company.

Default sell timeshares free

Sell Free? yes you can do it, but there could be obstacles as described. I know timeshares can be had to sell if not priced right, so do that(below the resorts current price), advertise everywhere you can and find a good escrow/title company to secure the transaction.
