Wyndham exchange Privileges on Resale Market

Hi there

I am brand new to the Timeshare experience, I have just been offered 154000 points annually at Star Island for just closing costs ($495) and the annual maintenance fee ($650), for comparision I contacted Wyndham directly and roughly the same deal was $12,000 + closing, when I asked why the huge difference in price I was told they are going to shutting down the Wyndham exchange program for everyone but clients who purchased directly from Wyndham- has anyone else heard about this?

Who are you buying this Wyndham time share from? Is it a re sale or a sale from Wyndham?

I have not heard of this and I do try to stay on top of the most recent timeshare industry news. I have heard similar stories from other developers, but it is usually a sales tactic to keep you from buying timeshare resale. I will explore my resources and post whatever I learn about this Wyndham exchange claim and post my findings ASAP.

Okay, I just did a bit of research and from what I've discovered this is not the case with Wyndham timeshare resales.

The only benefit that does not transfer on the timeshare resale market with wyndham is the VIP status attained with a certain point allotment when one buys developer direct. other than that the resale buyer would only be entitled to one free guest pass per year, which used to be zero before this benefit(or lack of)was changed.
