Advance timing on timeshare exchange

Is it too late now to set up an exchange of my timeshare at the Suites at Fisherman's Wharf for some place different this summer? This would be Shell Vacation Club and RCI. I've heard that it has to be done years ahead and that RCI is hard to deal with. Like to start out armed with a little inside info if I could.

Timeshare Exchange is not a perfect science and obtaining what you want really depends on a number of factors; what you are banking, what you want, what they have available and other variables. The best advice is to deposit your timeshare vacation ASAP, plan ahead regarding your requested resort, etc, be persistent and be nice(I've heard this goes a long way).
